TV Series: Episode 13

We watch the “The Forgotten,” the thirteenth (and cursed) episode of the Animorphs TV show with friend of the show Jarred McClure! This is the one where Rachel gets lost in the woods after getting amnesia and meets that crazy ex-Controller as well as a handsome boy who tries to put a slug in her ear.

Listener warning: we talk about crackers a weird amount in this one.

TV Series: Episode 12

We talk about the Animorphs TV Series again this week with friend of the show Jarred McClure from the 2 Nerds in a Basement podcast! This time we watched Episode 12: The Stranger, the one where Rachel meets her future self who is an accountant (?) with a hunting (?) knife. Also, the Eye of Sauron is in this one.

TV Series: Episode 9 and 10

We’re back for more punishment as The Dork-Bajir Chronicles (and Jarred) take on more of the godawful mistake that was the Animorphs TV Series. This week we discuss episodes 9 and 10, titled The Capture Part 1 and Part 2, the one where Jake gets a Yeerk in his head!

You can find more of Jarred’s stuff at www.collectivelegacy.org/2nerdsinabasement or on instagram at @vanillajayy.

Live from the Gardens: The Next Passage

Well, at least these books are good for SOMEthing! We talk about a bunch of the morphs from Alternamorphs: The Next Passage on this episode of Live from the Gardens! We cover everything from komodo dragons to the mythical Howlers! Splice in a healthy dose of puns and a dash of us interrupting each other as usual and you get the perfect episode of Fanimorphs!

Hypothetical Question: If you had to force one of the hosts to be stuck in a morph forever, which one would it be and why?

Alternamorphs #2: The Next Passage

Oh no. OH NO. Another one?? That’s right: it’s time for another Choose Your Own Adventure escapade as The Dork-Bajir Chronicles reads Alternamorphs #2: The Next Passage!

This is the one where you play as David but in an alternate timeline through some questionable Ellimist interference. Don’t worry though! It makes just as little sense as the first Alternamorphs, only with characters your recognize this time!

The Andalite Chronicles: Part 3

The big finale of The Andalite Chronicles comes crashing down on Mikael, Tessa, and Brayden as they are showered in sci fi craziness! Join us as we talk time paradoxes in our discussion of The Andalite Chronicles: An Alien Dies, part 3 of Elfangor’s origin story!

This book has essentially the coolest sci fi premises out of anything in the whole series so buckle up for our discussion of space- versus time-warping, more talk of Taxxon biology, and that crazy ass scene in the TIme Matrix tornado of time warpiness!

The Andalite Chronicles: Part 2

We’re back for the meaty middle section of The Andalite Chronicles: Alloran’s Choice. We walk you through the Taxxon homeworld and Elfangor’s movements through it.

If you like lengthy discussions about the ethics and logistics of war tactics, this episode is for you. Also, if you like discussing the biology (and even psychology) of fictional alien species, this is DEFINITELY for you.

The Andalite Chronicles: Part 1

The story of Elfangor! Finally! We talk about part one of The Andalite Chronicles this week and get deep into the story of the purple alien that started it all.

We discuss the logic of Andalite life (including Andalite plastic, Andalite formal wear, and weak Andalite bodies), what meat does to your brain, and whether or not Loren and Elfangor deserve to be together. Tune in for the first of this three part series on the origin of the biggest hero in Animorphs lore!

TV Series: Episode 7 and 8

Our first television journey is almost at an end! To cap off the month, we watch episodes 7 and 8 of the Animorphs TV show: “The Escape” and “The Alien.” Things get rowdy as the three of us (plus Jarred) talk about hospital escapades and how Ax can act so incredibly stupidly.

We are once again joined by non-Animorphs-reader Jarred McClure from the 2 Nerds in a Basement podcast (spoiler, he confirms some very real theories Mikael has about Marco and Rachel in this episode)! You can find more of his stuff at collectivelegacy.org/2nerdsinabasement or on instagram at @vanillajayy.
