The story of Elfangor! Finally! We talk about part one of The Andalite Chronicles this week and get deep into the story of the purple alien that started it all.

We discuss the logic of Andalite life (including Andalite plastic, Andalite formal wear, and weak Andalite bodies), what meat does to your brain, and whether or not Loren and Elfangor deserve to be together. Tune in for the first of this three part series on the origin of the biggest hero in Animorphs lore!

19 – Willy Wonka/Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1971/2005)

A DOUBLE-FEATURE!? Yep. A really one-sided double-feature featuring 1971’s beloved film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and the 2005 one Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.

First we watched the ’71 film, then we talked about it; then we watched the ’05 one for Sophie’s first time, and then we had to talk about it. Luckily we’ve both come to a better understanding to what made Willy Wonka such a classic.

And the less said about Charlie the better.

Live from the Gardens: The Pretender

We talk rabbits, rabbits, and more rabbits this week on Live from the Gardens! As the only new morph from Animorphs #23: The Pretender, rabbits are the star of the show this time around.

How many rabbit babies can two rabbits make in seven years? What’s up with the two different poo types that rabbits lay? What would happen if you only ate rabbit meat for your protein? Find out the answer to this and more by tuning in!

Hypothetical Question of the Week: If you could have one human job but you were a rabbit, what would that job be?

50 – Acting w. Quinn Hinch

The one and only Quinn Hinch joins us from across the Interwebs to talk all about his experience as an actor!

We’ll be discussing performances, acting on screen vs. on stage, and the social value of learning to act (which is all just tactically using empathy & imagination). Not to mention all of the weirdness that comes with being in a production city like Vancouver vs. a lively, yet contained scene like Edmonton.

18 – No Reservations (2007)

We watched 2007’s No Reservations and it was not what we expected.

Journey with us through this dramatic romantic-comedy based off a German romantic drama film called Mostly Martha (2001). Catherine Zeta-Jones, Aaron Eckhart, and Abigail Breslin star in a story about a stuck-in-her-ways chef, her new niece/daughter, and the Owen Wilson-ish guy who brings them together; also: Zeta-Jones’ sister is super dead & a child deals with the crushing realities of mortality. Clearly some things were lost in translation.
